It has Alltel logo in corner and says alltel network now part of AT&T in Virginia. Somone that has free time should call and ask. Guess I may tonight an see if I can port my Alltel number over to the ATT&T phone, there is a number in fine print 1-800-255-8351.
Where did it say the Torch was $300. I got my wife one for $99 with our new plan. If you pay $300 you are getting hosed.
Na i live in Norton and broke down and got one for my birthday last month, we were in JC and I gave in got a iPhone 4, work great around town. I called and downgraded my Alltel phone to a $25 plan they have with like 400 minutes and added 200 texts just to keep active until merger is complete.
Well the Reps had told me once the merger is done and we have 30 days to opt out, I call and move my current number to the iPhone and then cancel my Alltel plan with the free phone they send you and keep it as a back up or if I want to use it for some reason I just take out the sim and plug it in to other phone. If you find that link post it
Hope this link works

Thanks for the link... I tried 2 different cell #'s to see if they were eligible to transfer, but both numbers were NOT eligible. Both numbers are 276 and were assigned at the Norton Alltel office. Just wondering if anyone else has tried the link that elp6n posted above and received the same information???
I get the same thing and I have had this number for 6 years. it might be because there acknowledging they don't have service here then.
